The water was glistening, so beautiful and majestic. The water had reflected the sun's light off of Ketaro's bright eyes as he looked into the distance. He wanted to jump in the water but making his fur all wet was something that he wasn't fully up to. His heart was pounding as the water touched his paws and rolled out into the seemingly endless waves of blue water.
Ketaro's fur had been cleaned off from a body of water and he had gracefully padded his way along a little fake path he made in his head. He stood here sensing an uneasy feeling. He could smell another wolf but maybe two. Whoever it was, he knew he was near a pack territory or possibly on it. He looked down and then around him. Other wolves? Uh oh...Well what is the worst that could happen. He thought, sensing possibly a female. This made his heart pound harder and his sight to move away from the majestic waves.

The day had been perfect thus far and Kylon didn't want to let that go to waste. Still, she had duties to fulfill. Like many times before, she found herself wandering the land she owned, searching out any stray scents. After having gone a long time without finding anything out of the ordinary, she decided to relax. It would be a waste not to spend some time having fun. Kylon trotted toward the water, her favorite place. Upon arrival, she noticed something up the shore - another animal. She moved closer without hesitation. She was on her land, so there was no reason for her not to. The wolf, however, was close to the border. As she drew closer, she saw that it was a male. His coat was colored brown and black, with some red tints here and there. Whoever it was, he seemed strong. Kylon knew to be careful until she learned his motive. His eyes were away from the water at the moment, and Kylon was moving along close to the shore. The water was just a paw-print away from her right side. Kylon stopped moving when she got within a few feet of him. Her tail was held high and her ears were perked forward attentively. "It seems there have been many strangers near my lands as of late... My name is Kylon. Who might you be?" she asked. She continued to stand even after she had spoken. Much like when Ace arrived, she was not content with just sitting down and waiting to be attacked, should that be the wolf's intent. She was attentive and waiting, every bit of her attention waiting for this male to make his next move. Her brown gaze was directed at his yellow eyes, not for a second worrying about the challenge that some may take her direct stare to mean. --- Kylon Talhera --- Timber Wolf --- 2 Years --- "Speech." Ketaro turned quickly to meet the female who was focused on him. She wasn't as calm as he was for sure but something about the feeling in his gut made him nervous. He had probably intruded like she had brought up about this being her land. It made him tingle with nervousness and excitement for meeting a new wolf. "Is this your territory? I am dearly sorry. Of course what happened to being free, eh? Don't stress it, I'll leave. I am Ketaro. Good to meet another wolf." He said, sounding like he was having a larger conversation with himself then with the female wolf. He turned his body towards her and stared at her heavily, looking as if he were sizing her up but he knew he wasn't. He looked into her eyes and decided to speak up once again. "Is there more than one wolf on this land? And might I say what eye-capturing land you have here. I would be just as happy as you are to live on such a prized possession." He couldn't help but gaze back to the water.

He spoke in reply to her, apologizing for intruding on her land. It was beginning to annoy her that wolves were so blatantly crossing her pack's borders, but she didn't feel that she had enough manpower to attack someone, nor did she want to attack without knowing their reasoning for being on her land. It was his next statement, spoken after he looked in her direction for some time, that wasn't quite amusing. "Is there more than one wolf on this land?" Her ears dropped back for a moment, but she returned them to their normal position quickly. There weren't many here, so it was to be expected that someone wasn't sure. "It's a pleasure to meet you, Ketaro. Yes, there are a couple of wolves here. I'm working on finding more wolves for the pack, but, as I'm sure you know, there aren't tons of wolves in the area," his gaze had returned to the water, and hers was drawn along with it. Had she not seen him, she would probably just be enjoying her time by the water. That was why she had chosen to claim this land, even when she felt she would have been better off joining a pack than starting her own. It was impossible for her to just leave after seeing this place. For a moment, as she stared at the water, she wondered if Ace would come if she were in trouble. She hadn't seen him so far today, but that happened sometimes. She had noticed his scent as she traveled the pack lands, and just continued moving as she had been. It hadn't concerned her then, but now she was wondering where he had gone. If he were in the area, he would probably be there to help her if Ketaro tried to attack her. This wolf won't attack you. He would've tried to already, right? She thought, silencing her wandering mind. "If you're looking for a pack to join, we are open to strangers. However, I'm still wondering," she turned her attention away from the water and faced him, "why are you here? Why did you cross the borders?" She wanted to return to looking at the water, but she knew she had to do her job. It seemed that her work was always consuming her time, making her check borders and talk to strangers. She just wanted to relax, but everything seemed important to her mind - she had to finish her task, as soon as possible, with the best effort, without exceptions. It was somewhat annoying, but she dealt with it. --- Kylon Talhera --- Timber Wolf --- 2 Years --- "Speech." Thoughts. Actions. Word Count: 432 A/N: Sorry it's a little late. Ketaro looked her up and down and turned his brute body towards hers. I sniffed the area and then peered around her shoulder, as if trying to find another wolf. He was searching if this was an ambush. "Oh. Hm, a pack would sound nice. May I join?" He looked upon her with an ease that should have been more comforting to her. He shifted his weight to his other paw put confidence in his bright eyes to focus on her. He was getting quite impatient at how distant she seemed for having a pack. Ever heard of being social? Being happier? He wanted to say but it was out of place and rude to say to a alpha. Especially a female who seemed short tempered, but he wasn't one to take personality traits off of first glances. "Simple. I have no where else to go. Wandering is something I do after I left my family. I am out of place here, you are obviously a bit uncomfortable upon my arrival and I do really apologize for ruining your day or relaxation or whatever. Haven't you ever been alone and wandered around so much that you just don't care when you start to smell the scent of a wolf?"

Before she could reply to his first question, he spoke again, and she reacted by flinching back, as though struck. Perhaps she had been being a bit rude, but she hadn't realized she was acting as though he had ruined her day. Kylon calmed her mind and sat down, noticing he had done the same. She hadn't meant to appear upset or unhappy, but it had apparently happened, based on his words. "I'm sorry if I've been rude. It's not your fault." She bowed her head slightly, even if it wasn't quite the "alpha" thing to do. She didn't want to upset him, nor did she think it was his fault that she was constantly bombarded by tasks and jobs. She merely continued to get lost in her own world as she spoke to him because it was one of the few times when she wasn't required to be doing something else. "If you wish to join, you can. I know that loneliness is a terror and I hated facing it myself; that's why I made this pack and opened it to strangers. I want others to find their way here and be at home within Silver Stone pack. I don't wish to upset them by being rude or appearing uncomfortable with their arrival."She didn't really feel like explaining anything about joining at the moment. As she had said, it wasn't his fault, and if he didn't accept her apology, she would feel rather guilty. Her attitude had been unintentional. She also didn't wish to start a fight with this male. Her head was no longer bowed; she looked at the male straight on, her brown-eyed gaze unwavering. It wouldn't do well to let her mind wander at the moment, not after she'd been rude. Her ears were forward again, listening for a reply. She hoped he wasn't offended. Kylon also wondered what he'd have to say about how she had apologized - it wasn't very common for an alpha to bow their head to a stranger. With any luck, he wouldn't take it as a sign of weakness. She wasn't weak, she merely did not want to be rude. There was a difference, and hopefully, Ketaro would see that. --- Kylon Talhera --- Timber Wolf --- 2 Years --- "Speech." Thoughts. Actions. Ketaro gave a smile to her, trying to comfort her in a way that she wouldn't feel like she did something wrong. He let his tail wag from side to side in satisfaction with her actions and words. Of course the bowing of the head was weird of an alpha to do but she was trying. She was not perfect and Ketaro couldn't help but admire it to a level of respect with her courage. "No need to bow. If anything I should, for your courage of apologizing. Your a very good alpha female. I would be honored to join this pack!" Ketaro says the last part a bit more enthusiastic. "I am very strong and a strong hunter but not as fast as the thinner wolves. I can take prey down and that's about it for me. I can be a perimeter guard if that would put you to ease about intruders." He started to be thoughtful about her.

Kylon smiled back at Ketaro. He never quite said he forgave her, but the way he continued the conversation gave her the vague idea that he did. He offered to help with guarding the border, a task she had been doing by herself up until now. It would be a great help and she was thankful that he offered. She was happiest to hear that he didn't think less of her for her apology. "Thank you, Ketaro. A help with guarding the border would be great. The task is more for a fighter than a hunter, I think, but either way, if you could assist with it, you are welcome to," she replied with a small wag of her tail. As far as appearances went, he seemed like he could take the task of a hunter or a warrior - whichever he may so choose. She figured she ought to give him the choice - Ace had wanted to be a hunter, so she'd given him that rank. It would be rude not to give this male a choice as well. "Silver Stone's ranking system is simple, but there are generally tasks - Hunter, Warrior, or Caregiver. As I've said, guarding the border is more of a Warrior's task. If you have an opinion of what task you wish to have, please tell me so," it wouldn't do her any good to have a wolf taking care of a task they didn't want to be part of. He had offered to help with the border, but if he wished to do something else, that was fine as well. Kylon didn't want the wolves in the pack to dislike how they lived here. She wanted others to have a say, even though her word would be the final one in an argument. She made a mental note to warn him against betrayal, as she had with all strangers before. First, she had to hear his reply to her previous statements. --- Kylon Talhera --- Timber Wolf --- 2 Years --- "Speech." Thoughts. Actions. Word Count: 329

Ketaro smiled and nodded as she spoke, listening to every word. She knew what she was talking about yet she had only a few wolves in her territory. He looked at her while she talked, admiring her wisdom as pack leader. "I shall be warrior. Ketaro at your duty." He joked around, trying not to make the moment too serious. "I appreciate you letting me join your pack. What is to do now?" Ketaro has started to like Kylon. Her name was beautiful and her words were something to listen to. He started to think of them as rising friends, wolves who were starting to become better friends as the talked. He stretched out a little bit, showing his big body, and came back to a normal position. He perked his ears up to see what she would say next. She would probably say something nice or neutral, something that wasn't meant to be nice or mean.

He accepted the duty of a warrior in a joking manner, but she knew he was serious about it, in some way. When he asked what there was to do now, Kylon had something of an answer prepared. She didn't really have anything to do immediately - she had just finished a border patrol, but there would be another one soon enough. She remembered her mental note, and figured it was about time that she told him. "A Warrior... I agree, that task seems like it will fit you. There isn't much to do at the moment, Ketaro. I just finished checking the border recently, so there is time to relax for a while," she paused to take in a breath of air. The scent that ran through her was a mix of the male's scent and the scent she loved - the scent of the lakeside that she called home. It was the one place she loved most; it was a place she would die to defend her rights to. She would die just as willingly to defend her pack. The two most important things for her, friends and water. "It's about time I warn you," she said, getting serious, "that betrayal is not tolerated in the least. Silver Stone needs to have trust - trust between not just you and me, but between the entire pack. If you turn your back on one pack member, you are turning it on everyone. Betrayal will not be tolerated, nor forgiven. Trust is earned through actions, not words, but I believe you can gain the trust of the pack if you try." The wording came out differently from when she spoke to ace almost unconsciously. Thinking of what she said, she decided that it was better this way. More direct, more meaningful. It's better. For sure. she thought. Her attention was on Ketaro. Her gaze was no longer fierce. She had returned to her normal, calm attitude. Once more, she was playing the bad guy to make sure that new members new their place. It was the way of the world. At least, that was her excuse. --- Kylon Talhera --- Timber Wolf --- 2 Years --- "Speech." Thoughts. Actions. Word Count: 356

Ketaro suddenly felt like he wanted to talk to her. He was now in the pack but he still felt like he wanted to accomplish something. Gaining a friend. He wanted to accomplish that so bad. He turned to her and decided to ask a question, so he could know where she was with being annoyed and being satisfied with happiness. "Would you like me to leave you alone, Kylon? I will be happy with walking the borders to clean up on what you did." He smiled charmingly, letting her now he was here for her. "Oh and if you ever wanna talk to a pack mate, I'm here. I get bored often so meeting up and talking is always cool with me." He started to get nervous is she was goign to turn him down and put him to work, making him patrol borders of the pack lands. "I will never betray this pack. This pack is now my family and my new life. I cannot throw it away and if I did, no purpose would be served to myself or you or any other members." I bow my head and sit down.

Kylon listened to his words attentively. She actually didn't mind his company at this point. She didn't know where Ace was at that exact moment, so having him stay to speak wouldn't be a bad idea. Kylon gave a nod of acknowledgment to his statement about not betraying the pack. There was no way that words alone could prove that, but she was willing to keep her mouth shut. She would watch and, as with Ace, decide when she thought him trustworthy. At this point, she believed that he could be trusted. The benefit of doubt was never a bad one. "You're welcome to stay, Ketaro. There isn't work to do and all I plan on is staying here to relax. I wouldn't protest having a friend to talk to," she referenced him as friend out of habit, as well as the hope that the two would be friends. She didn't want to make enemies, though she expected that she would have enemies at some point in her life. For now, though, she had only met people who she called 'friend', merely because she hadn't met someone who deserved to be called otherwise. She turned her head to look at the water, her ears still intent on Ketaro. She wanted to go play in the water, or at least wade through it for a while, but she had to hear his reply first. I don't have to, actually, she corrected herself. Though it is the polite thing to do... Her gaze flickered between the water and Ketaro, then landed back on the water of the bay. --- Kylon Talhera --- Timber Wolf --- 2 Years --- "Speech." Thoughts. Actions. Word Count: 266

Ketaro had smiled lightly observing her and what she did, quietly. He was content with keeping to himself at this moment and getting himself a bit wet. He started to trot into the water and smile. He loved the water like a little pup. He stuck his face in and shook it off when he came out he left the water soon after and laid down watching the waves farther out. "Are you more independent? I see that you like to have peace and quiet and I am dearly sorry to disturb it, but I can't quite eep my curiosity aside." He said looking at her sweetly with a stare of a youth pup who had just asked to have an adventure. "I enjoy company very much, makes me feel less lonely." He couldn't help but stare at the female wolf yet again and admire her charming features, as she waded through the clear waters.

Kylon waded through the water, happy with the simplicity that it seemed to radiate. The water wafted through her fur and cooled her skin. She ducked her head toward the water, getting her face wet. When Ketaro began speaking, she listened silently, half-lost in her own world. Peace and quiet weren't always the words that described her wants, but they were somewhat similar to how she felt at the moment. When she looked back at the male, she noticed he was watching her. Though sometimes it seemed awkward to have others staring at her, she didn't mind and merely returned to gazing at the water for a moment. She looked back toward Ketaro again before speaking, "I'm content at the moment. I like having the company of other wolves, though sometimes I don't have anything to say. That's all there is to it." She smiled. "You're not disturbing my peace at all. In a way, I'm more at peace with someone here as company than I would be if I were alone." She waded out of the water, shaking the water from her pelt once she was on the shore. She tried to stay away from Ketaro as she shook the water off, under the assumption that he didn't want to get wetter than he already was. After getting as much water as she could off her pelt, she walked back to be nearer to Ketaro. "Ketaro, how far did you travel? You don't have to answer if you don't want to. I'm just wondering... For some reason, you keep reminding me of myself - I traveled quite a bit before I found this place. For the most part, I was by myself, and many lone wolves aren't the polite sort." She didn't mean to pry, but she didn't want it to feel like the conversation was one-sided. Kylon sat down, looking out to the water even though her attention was mostly on Ketaro. If she upset him by asking, she would know not to ask again, as well as not to ask others. Sometimes, the past was a place that was best to be forgotten, but other times, it was nothing more than a place that you'd been and left. --- Kylon Talhera --- Timber Wolf --- 2 Years --- "Speech." Ketaro gave a smile, at least he was welcome here. He sighed as she asked her question but he knew he couldn't ignore it. Not from his new alpha. Okay well I shall stay. He nodded kindly to her, ready to answer the new question she asked. I have walked for a week. I left my family to seek a family of my own or a pack of my own. Since I joined yours I can forget about my old one. It brings back memories that I dearly miss. He looked down, almost looking sad but sucking in his emotions again. He would remain distant with emotions with his alpha. Weakness is something an alpha wouldn't want, Ketaro would expect. It would be stupid for a large male like himself to start going all dramatic.
